This past Saturday, I fulfilled another item on my Bucket List by running my first ever one-day comic book show: Artsy Fartsy Comic Con. Envisioned as a creator-centric event, Artsy Fartsy featured sixteen creators including Shawn Daley, Adam Gorham, Jay Fosgitt, Allison O’Toole and yours truly. With help on the day from friends JM Clark, George Zotti and Kris Myers, comic book lovers of all ages were welcomed to the Tranzac Club in Toronto to discover new comic books, graphic novels, books and original art.
With the success of this first event, I’ve already started kicking the tires and getting things ready for a second show in the spring. A dedicated website for the convention is on its way and I’m waiting for confirmation of a date from the Tranzac.
Thanks to all who attended, exhibited, lent a hand and helped spread the word.
