I managed to check two very big items off my bucket list in 2025 and am well on my way to tackling maybe a half dozen or so other items in 2026. First, the two 2025 achievements.

The biggest achievement is that I finally escaped my toxic work environment in May last year. After almost 25 years, I quit working as a strip club DJ. The ownership of my former club stank: as bosses and as people. Reopening after the pandemic only served to make the day-to-day at the club excruciating. Soul-crushing. Unbearable.

m the day I finally quit.

So I walked out. A final and deeply personal insult from the owner was the final straw and I was done.

I have not been this damn happy in YEARS.

I also managed to revive the Wrestlers Union in December with an event at the Tranzac Club in Toronto. With former Union champion Space Monkey having retired, the title was vacant and young upstart “Code Blue” CJ Graham pinned yours truly in a No DQ match to become just the 11th heavyweight champion in UIPW history.

Looking ahead to 2026, there’s a lot I am working on. I’m in the process of getting my driver’s licence back. (In fact, I have my G1, so I CAN legally drive again under limited conditions.) I need to make a follow-up appointment to finish my will. The second volume of Heroes of Homeroom C is progressing well and I have several other projects in the works. And I’m going to Japan in March where I will see no less than three pro wrestling events (New Japan, Noah and Stardom) as well as the first day of the Osaka sumo basho.

So, yes… the bucket list is not a forgotten thing. It’s alive and I’m striving to complete more and more of those goals.
