In February 2018, Anthony appeared on InnerSpace, the daily news/information show on CTV Sci-Fi Channel (formerly known as Space), as part of the station’s programming for Black History Month. Anthony was contacted to write and host this brief look at the history of Black comic books.
Sparked in part by the impending release of Marvel’s first Black Panther movie, it would feel odd to look back and not make mention of the passing of Chadwick Boseman last August. His portrayal of the film’s titular hero and the movie’s financial success should pave the way for more genre films to star Black actors and feature predominantly Black casts.
And that’s something a comic book writer trying to reach the far corners of the globe with his own creations is happy to know.
